E-commerce platform vendor Shopify grows Q3 revenue 93%.
- Total revenue of $52.8 million, a 93.4% increase from $27.3 million the third quarter of 2014. The total includes sales from the company’s subscriptions and merchant products.
- Subscription revenue grew 67.2% to $29.6 million from $17.7 million. The increase came from growth in the number of merchants using the Shopify platform. Subscription sales come from e-commerce platform fees that range from $29 to $179 a month, plus optional upgrades.
- Merchant revenue grew 140.5% to $23.23 million from $9.66 million, driven mainly by an increase in revenue from Shopify Payments, through an agreement with payments processor Stripe Inc.
- Net loss was $4.7 million, compared with a net loss of $4.3 million, in the third quarter of 2014.
