Next week the annual PyCon Python programming language convention takes place in Portland, Oregon.  This is one of the biggest programming language conferences and is a week jam packed with tutorials, talks, coding sprints, and more.  If you can’t be there to see the talks don’t worry as they’ll all be posted online later (you can see last year’s PyCon 2016 talks here).  Here are some interesting MicroPython, hardware, and other talks happening at PyCon this year that are worth checking out at the conference or later online:

• IoT Lab with MicroPython and Friends – This looks like an excellent tutorial session to learn about MicroPython and ESP8266.
• Tangible Tools for Teaching with Python – This is a talk that Tony from Adafruit will give at the Education Summit of PyCon.  The talk will explore tools you can use to teach physical computing with Python.
• Writing a C Python Extension in 2017 – Interfacing Python with hardware sometimes requires adding C extensions or other native code and this talk looks like a nice overview of the process for interfacing C code with Python.
• Hacking Classic Nintendo Games with Python – This fun talk looks at how to modify an emulated Nintendo game in real-time with SMS control and more.
• Look mum no hands! From blinkings LEDs to a bike speedometer with MicroPython – This looks like a good introduction to MicroPython and how it can be used to solve problems like adding a speedometer to a bicycle.
• Hacking Cars with Python – Learn about how to talk to the electronics in automobiles with Python from this talk.
• Modern Python Dictionaries — A confluence of a dozen great ideas – This talk by Python core developer Raymond Hettinger should be an excellent overview of the way dictionaries work in Python.  Raymond’s talks are always entertaining and highly informative, don’t miss them!
